Mt. Adams, Takhlakh Lake, Gifford Pinchot National Forest, WA
 
After spending half an hour exploring the lakeshore and taking in the beauty of this tranquil lake that we had never seen before, I decided on this composition of a fallen log, half submerged in the water, pointing straight toward the peak of the mountain. We spent the evening sitting on the lakeshore, periodically taking photos, just watching the light slip off the slopes of the ridges and into twilight. At that moment, there was nowhere else I would have rather been.
